TTP4000 The receptor for advanced glycation end products (RAGE) is a membrane protein expressed on multiple cell types and has been shown to play a major role in the pathophysiology of diabetic complications as well as acute and chronic inflammation. The extracellular portion of RAGE (sRAGE) has been synthesized and shown to be therapeutic in multiple animal models of human diseases by binding to RAGE ligands in vivo thus preventing the interaction of these ligands with native, membrane associated RAGE. TTP4000 is a rhsRAGE fusion protein. TTP4000 has been licensed to Pfizer for worldwide development and commercialization. |
